While ultra vibrant hair and dramatic ombre ruled 2014, we’re starting to see a shift in the follicle forecast. As we step into the new year we’re beginning to see a more natural trend attached to those tresses. The leading force toward this minimal vibe: balayage, increasingly popular highlights that aim to mimic those sunkissed highlights you got as a kid. And now, piggybacking off balayage, we’re seeing another similar, albeit darker, technique that we’re sure is about to go mane-stream over the course of 2015: introducing ecaille (AKA “tortoiseshell” in French).

Also, it is never, ever okay to suggest a sperm donor as an option to someone who hasn't even expressed a desire to have a child. Now is not the time to apply peer pressure *cough*

This week's Obsessions: All that GLITTERS is GOLD

 You know what they say, she who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten. This week's obsession is no different. Lately, I've been loving anything gold, sparkly, and fabulous.

I am loving this Kate Spade Glitter Watch. Dress up or Dress down, this watch is perfect for any outfit. The best part, the watch is interchangeable and changing straps to a soft nude color. This watch not only comes in gold, but silver and multi-color!

Last, but not least, keep those January blues away with a fresh bouquet of flowers. Although they aren't gold or dipped with glitter, these fresh tulips are the "pick me up" you need to make it through your week. They have me believing spring is around the corner. (I wish.)

Nothing quite says New Years Chic like black and gold and glitter...amiright? M&M has been busy in the post-holiday ether gathering adorbs ideas for your mid week soirees. 

Champagne flutes up gals!

Have a fancy Dinner Party. Like, real fancy-- with zebras and menus. 

Your friends will be wowed for the last time of the year when you dish up an amazing 4 course meal on antiqey finds from the flea market, zazzed up with fun cocktail napkins and hand lettered menus. A little construction paper, some gold sharpie, and you're set. Wanna make it extra fancy?? Hire a private chef for the night. As swank as it sounds, you can actually find a ton of chefs for reasonable rates by posting an ad at your local culinary school. Culinary Students are looking to utilize the professional tactics they learn all day and are happy to make a few bucks doing it!

Have a photobooth, but better:  A Resolution Booth!

Your pals will love the chance to record their good intentions for 2015. So easy to do with a chalkboard and a polaroid camera-- string up the shots along with these elegant dipped feathers around the party! Also doubles as an adoreable party favor or a sweet addition to a thank you card.

Not only is this a universal crowd-pleaser, the prep is quick and can easily happen while kiddos are occupied with play-doh. This dish accompanies so many mains and can even work for brunch. Serve individually for guests with an over easy egg and its paleo and fabulous too. So freakin good.

BOOTIE BOOTIE BOOTIE...

Rockin Everywhere

Seriously-- if you don't have fall booties lets start over. quick. 

We are in love with these sassy business-in-the-fronts from mod cloth. Sooooo appropriate for work and play, and comfortable enough to keep on all day. This seasonal shoe is a classic and can definitely be counted on to make a comeback year after year.
