Travel Journal October 2014: Puerto Rico

BUENOS DIAS!

Hi, Tiffany here! If there is one thing you need to know about me it is that I love to take adventures and travel (Cookie is a major adventure seeker too. I mean she has a 2 year old. Everyday is an adventure). I love exploring the world and immersing myself in a culture of whatever environment I am in. Recently, I went on an adventure to Puerto Rico. I love the entire vibe of this charming city; the colors, the style, the architecture, the food, the beaches, the men (Eeek). I could go on and on, but I'll narrow it down to a few stories:

The first day we spent exploring the rain forest, El Yunque. By exploring, I mean we got lost. We spent a good chunk of our morning driving around the green forest looking for waterfalls we knew were somewhere, but didn't where. We didn't mind being lost. We were just excited be there. Driving up a winding road, we finally hit our destination; La Mina Falls. It was about a mile hike down to the falls. Midway there it began to downpour. We were stuck in the rainforest while it was raining. This moment could be classified as "get out of here" kind of amazing. When we approached the falls, we quickly stripped down and jumped in the water. It was perfect (also, a little bit scary due to an irrational fear of snakes, but non were there so perfect all the same).

Then there was kayaking in the Bioluminescent Bay in Fajardo. It was by far the best excursion we took on this trip.
